Plasma Lift

Plasma Lift is a natural skin renewal method applied by injecting platelet-rich plasma (PRP), obtained from the person’s own blood, under the skin. It speeds up cell renewal, increases collagen production, and gives the skin youthfulness.

Skin rejuvenation with PRP is effective especially for fine wrinkles, loss of elasticity, and skin tone irregularities. The plasma obtained from the blood sample repairs the skin tissue and gives it vitality thanks to growth factors.

What Is Plasma Lift?

Plasma Lift is an aesthetic treatment that firms and renews the skin without the risk of incisions, sutures, or anesthesia. At its core lies the healing power of plasma energy, known as the fourth state of matter. The device creates a plasma arc by ionizing the gases in the air (especially nitrogen and water vapor) between its tip and the skin. When this arc contacts the uppermost layer of the skin (the epidermis), it instantly vaporizes the tissue in that area.

This process is called sublimation. Its greatest advantage is that the energy is concentrated only at a millimetric point and does not spread heat to the surrounding tissues. In other words, no burn forms on the skin; only the targeted problematic tissue is removed. This controlled vaporization process activates the skin’s self-repair mechanisms. Cells called fibroblasts are stimulated, and the production of new collagen and elastin fibers that give the skin its elasticity and firmness begins. As a result, both an immediate firming is observed in the skin and a rejuvenation effect that continues to increase over the months emerges.

How Is Plasma Lift Performed?

The Plasma Lift treatment is a very practical procedure that puts patient comfort first. The procedure proceeds step by step, and each stage is managed meticulously. First, the area to be treated is carefully cleaned with a special solution to remove oil and dirt from the skin surface. Once we are sure the skin is completely clean, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to the area to ensure the procedure is entirely comfortable. We wait about 40–60 minutes for this cream to completely numb the upper layers of the skin.

After the waiting period, the cream is cleaned off and the procedure begins. The tip of the Plasma Lift device is held about 1–2 mm away from the surface, never touching the skin. When the device is activated, a tiny plasma arc is discharged from its tip toward the skin. These discharges are repeated at planned intervals over the targeted area, usually forming a grid or triangular pattern. Each discharge leaves a small brown dot — that is, a carbon crust — on the skin surface. A slight warmth may be felt during this procedure, but thanks to the anesthesia, no pain or aching is felt. The duration of the treatment varies depending on the size of the area worked on, but for both eyelids, for example, it is completed in a short time of about 20–30 minutes.

What Is the Recovery Process After Plasma Lift Like?

The recovery process after Plasma Lift is at least as important to the success of the treatment as the procedure itself. It is an expected condition for edema and tenderness to form in the treated area right after the procedure. Especially in delicate areas such as around the eyes, this swelling may be more pronounced in the first 2–3 days. The small brown carbon crusts in the treatment area are part of the skin’s natural healing process. These crusts act as a barrier protecting the skin from external factors and fall off on their own within about 5–10 days.

During this process, paying attention to some rules is critically important for healing to proceed smoothly and for the best result to be achieved. The most important points to pay attention to are:

• Never peel or scratch the carbon crusts.
• Do not let water touch the area for the first 24–48 hours.
• Regularly use the special repairing creams recommended by your physician.
• Stay away from saunas, Turkish baths, and pools until healing is complete.
• Be sure to protect the fresh, pink skin that appears after the crusts fall off from the sun.
• Use a high-factor (SPF 50+) sunscreen for at least 3 months.
• Avoid applying makeup to the area for one week.

After the crusts fall off, the pink appearance on the skin gradually disappears within a few weeks. Although the firming and tightening effect on the skin is seen immediately, the settling of the final results that emerge with the triggering of collagen production can take 2–3 months. During this process, the skin quality continues to increase, gaining a tighter and younger appearance.

What Affects Plasma Lift Prices?

Plasma Lift prices vary depending on factors such as the location of the center where the procedure is performed, the experience of the specialist performing it, and the technology of the device used. The number of sessions, the size of the treatment area, and additional care products or follow-up treatments also affect the cost. In large cities and prestigious clinics, fees are usually higher.
